Biographical Sketch
Ronnie Casella is Associate Professor of Education at Central Connecticut State University. His most recent book is A Practical Guide to the Qualitative Dissertation (with Sari Biklen). He has published articles in the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Anthropology and Education Quarterly, Social Justice, Teachers College Record, The Urban Review, and other journals. In 2006 he was Visiting Scholar at the University of the Witwatersrand, where his research focused on school and youth violence in Johannesburg and Soweto. He teaches classes on educational foundations, comparative and international education, sociology of education, and qualitative research. His writings focus on youth and school violence, education in a global context, and relationships between schools and private businesses, NGOs, and community organizations. He received his M.A. in English Education from New York University and his Ph.D. in Cultural Foundations of Education at Syracuse University.
