Paulette Lemma serves as the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies at Central Connecticut State University. In this position, she is responsible for university wide assessment and accreditation at the state level, and specifically for policies and procedures for the Graduate School. She was involved with designing the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership and moving it through the curricular and approval process. Prior to her administrative post, Paulette Lemma was a professor in the Department of Teacher Education where she served as Chair for four years during major efforts to reform teacher preparation and attain national accreditation.
Before coming to CCSU, Dr. Lemma was an assistant professor in Curriculum and Supervision at Pennsylvania State University where she also received her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her professional interests lie in program design and assessment, as well as in building strong relationships between schools and universities. She co-edited and wrote two chapters in a book titled Ground Level Reform in Teacher Education: Changing Schools of Education. Her latest professional work is a co-authored chapter for a book on performance assessment of teacher candidates preparing to work in urban schools. Most recently, she has taught graduate classes in Action Research in which students combine research design with practical action to promote and sustain improvement in teaching and learning.
