Biographical Sketch

Connie Tait, Ph.D. is a professor and chair in the Department of Counseling and Family Therapy. She is also the Coordinator of the School Counseling Program. Dr. Tait came from the Utah State Office of Education where she was an Education Specialist responsible for the Alternative Middle Level School program throughout the state. Her doctorate is from Syracuse University in Counselor Education with a concentration in Multicultural Counseling. Dr. Tait’s masters degree is also from Syracuse University in secondary school counseling and her bachelors is from Kent State University in elementary education. She was previously employed at the University of Colorado/Denver and Idaho State University as faculty in the Department of Counseling and coordinator of the school counseling program. Dr. Tait has worked extensively with schools doing consulting, training, research and coordination of programs. Her research interests are youth at-risk, bullying, resiliency, and quality school environments.
