Biographical Sketch

Dr. Jane Fried is the Coordinator of the master's degree program in Student Development in Higher Education. She was formerly the Director of Residential Life at the University of Hartford, Coordinator of Staff Training and Student Development for the Residence Hall system at the University of Connecticut and an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University. She is the author of five books and numerous articles and book chapters on student affairs, ethics in higher education and cross cultural communication. She is also the co-author of two recent publications that focus on student learning from a student affairs perspective: Learning Reconsidered and Learning Reconsidered 2. Dr. Fried is the advisor to all students in the student development program and frequently consults with student affairs departments on campus.
